Welcome to the new IWERA -Inchicore Works Estate Residents Association- website.
We will be providing information on the evolving nature of IWERA and its current efforts at nurturing community capacity. All with the overarching aim of helping found a strong, representative and forward-looking organisation into the future.
To start with, IWERA is operating a short-term programme from mid-October 2024 to mid-April 2025, within which a set of events, research measures and formal community consultation processes will take place, leading to an IWERA AGM in the Spring.
IWERA is launching a 24-page Journal on Thursday 24th October in the Model School at 7pm. This Journal has been developed with the support of Dublin City Council and is designed to provide a solid introduction to the extraordinary work of local people and leaders from 1973 onwards, who in one form or another, have forged the tradition of a strong citizen led residents association. It is with this fifty-year track record and with a focus on cultivating a healthy, creative and sustainable community that IWERA has worked to bring about a new threshold for all residents moving forward in years ahead.
Please do take the opportunity to attend the Journal launch on Thursday 24th in the Model School, enjoy the Community Concert on Saturday 26th October in the Sports and Social Club, or drop by the Open House in the same venue on Sunday 27th from 2-4pm - as we all look forward to the various Samhain / Halloween happenings throughout the week leading to the 31st of October.
A big thanks from the IWERA 50 Planning Team.
